We are seeking a garage door installer helper who will work alongside experienced technicians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial garage doors.

The types of doors handled may include sectional, rolling steel, rolling steel fire doors, speed doors, counter shutters and both commercial and residential home doors.

This role provides excellent opportunity for hands-on learning and skill development in the field of garage door systems.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Starting date: Immediate
• Number of positions to fill: 1
• Salary: $22-$25 per hour, based on experience
• Vehicle & tools: Provided by the company
• Job status: Full-time, Permanent
• Location: Metcalfe, Ontario with occasional visit to other company site in Ottawa

Garage Door Installer Helper Responsibilities:

• Support senior technicians in installing residential and commercial garage doors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
• Assist in the routine maintenance activities for commercial garage door systems, including lubrication, adjustments, and inspections.
• Work with technicians to identify and troubleshoot issues with garage door systems, providing necessary support during repairs.
• Handle and organize tools, equipment and materials required for installation and maintenance tasks.
• Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, answering basic queries and providing assistance as directed by senior technicians.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and the team.
• Be open to additional training, such as "Working at Heights" and "Aerial Lift" certification, if required for safe job performance (costs covered by the company if employment is more than one year. Otherwise, a repayment plan would be discussed for employment less than one year).
• Be receptive to any other duties assigned by the manager that align with the job's scope and requirements.

Garage Door Installer Helper:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Valid G driver's license is a must
• The role involves working at heights, frequent lifting, bending, and standing
• Exposure to varying weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of overhead doors, sectionals, rolling steel, high speed or specialty doors would be considered: An asset
